PANJIM: Some miscreants set fire to a makeshift hut belonging to Leandro Rodrigues at Caranzalem Beach on Sunday causing a loss of around Rs 10 lakh.
A fishing boat, fishing nets and barrels containing black substances used to paint the vessels were gutted.

On getting the information, the Panjim Fire Brigade rushed to the spot and put out the blaze.
Rodrigues said that he came to know about the fire from the police, who woke him. He soon rushed to the beach and found that the fishing boat and fishing nets were destroyed in the fire.
Rodrigues has alleged foul play and suspected the role of some miscreants behind the fire.
