VASCO: “Women in the present era are way ahead of men; they are becoming more and more self sufficient and strong due to skill training courses, better education and safer atmosphere especially in Goa,” Leader of the Opposition Digambar Kamat said.

He was speaking as the chief guest for the felicitation function of the 40 women who have completed a 15-day beautician course organised by Cortalim Panch Anita Kekre.
Kamat also said that even the girls are not behind the boys. “Girls are way ahead in sports, education and various other fields,” he said.
He emphasised that local women should take maximum benefit of skill training classes organised by local panchas.
Emphasising that hard work takes people to greater heights, he said that the daughter of a housemaid has become an accountant through her hard work. “Everything depends on hard work and perseverance,” Kamat asserted.
Earlier, Guest Speaker Amita Salatri highlighted the importance of women empowerment through skill training and good education.
Salatri also appreciated the efforts and response received for the 15-days beautician course.
Organiser Kenkre informed that beautician course was free and around 40 local women and girls completed the course. Those who completed the course were felicitated and presented with certificates by Salatri and Kamat.
