VASCO: The election to the Mormugao Municipal Council chairperson will be held on Thursday and it might witness a possible contest between BJP councillors but owing allegiance to MLAs Carlos Almeida and Milind Naik.
Four councillors have filed seven nominations papers with Henrique Fredricks filing two, Bhavana Nanoskar filing three, Vice Chairperson Shashikant Parab and Kritesh Naik Gaonkar filing one paper each.
The election will be presided over by Margao Municipal Council Chief Officer Siddhivinayak Naik and the process of scrutiny and the final election will start at 11 am.
