margao: Following repeated complaints from locals residing near Holy Spirit Church, Margao against an alleged illegal structure that falls in the heritage conservation zone, Margao Municipal Council (MMC) held an inspection of the place.

Locals had gathered in large numbers in ward number 10, on Thursday to protest the same.
MMC councillor Glen Andrade, former chairperson Elino Colaco, activist Jose Maria Miranda and others were present.
After the inspection by MMC Chairperson Pooja Naik, the erring party, a person named Guttedar, assured the locals in the presence of Naik and Andrade, that he will dismantle the third floor within 15 days.
Further, he was warned by the civic body that action would be taken against him if he doesn’t adhere to the instructions given.
The people gathered there also decided to keep a strict vigil on the same and future such incidents and to see if the assurance given is met with.
