MMC to Add Two New Wards for Balanced Population Distribution: Vasco MLA Krishna Salkar

Vasco MLA Krishna Salkar has announced the formation of two additional wards within the Mormugao Municipal Council (MMC) jurisdiction, which will take the total number of wards to 27. The move aims to ensure a more equitable distribution of the population across all wards.

Salkar made the announcement while launching drainage improvement works in Mestawada, Bhutebhat, and Kharewada, taken up under the MLALAD scheme. Each project is being carried out at an estimated cost of ₹15 lakh.

Speaking at the event, the MLA emphasized the need for infrastructural upgrades and administrative restructuring to meet the growing demands of the city. “With the addition of two more wards, we aim to manage population density more effectively and provide better services to all residents,” he said.

The drainage works are part of a broader initiative to improve basic amenities and address long-standing civic issues in various parts of Vasco.
