VASCO: Chandrakant Jaiwar, a Baina youth arrested for sexually abusing a 13-year-old boy, was remanded in police custody for seven days by Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC), Vasco, on Saturday.
The accused was arrested following a complaint from the mother of the victim for sexually abusing her 13-year-old son and also for threatening him with dire consequences.
The police have registered an offence under Sections 377 and 342 of Indian Penal Code (IPC), Section 8 (2) of Goa Children Act and Section 45 (k), 8 and 12 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offence Act. Police Sub Inspector Nehanda Tavares is further investigating into the case.
