MARGAO: Stating that resumption of mining is the only alternative to revive the economic condition of the State, South Goa MP Francisco Sardinha on Thursday congratulated Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant for successfully bringing back Goan seafarers and requested that they be quarantined free of cost. “I congratulate the CM and all those who put in efforts to bring the seafarers back to Goa. The CM should continue his efforts to bring back the remaining seafarers stranded in various places to Goa. They should be quarantined free of cost and if possible there should be quarantine in the New District Hospital of Margao,” said Sardinha. “All seafarers and others should follow the protocol and the rules at their level best in the State. Congratulations to the CM, though late for trying his level best to revive mining in Goa because right now the economy is in shambles due to closure of mining and also due to the effect of the coronavirus pandemic on tourism. Resumption of mining is the only alternative to revive the state of Goa,” he added.
