MARGAO: The Navelim Civic and Consumer Forum has asked the government to withdraw the Direct Benefit Transfer of LPG Subsidy Scheme.
In a representation to the Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar and Fisheries Minister, Avertano Furtado, the Forum said the scheme has been a total failure and needs to be immediately withdrawn and scrapped as many persons, who have been enrolled by linking their Aadhar number and bank account to their LPG connection.
Forum secretary Joseph L Vaz said the people of Goa are at a loss to understand how the LPG dealers are charging full rate for the cylinder refills and how the subsidy amount will be reimbursed to them with the central government suspending the scheme.
