Navelim youth want relaxation of helmet rule

MARGAO: Youth of Navelim, Davorlim and other parts of Margao under the banner of “Ami Navelkar” on Monday submitted a memorandum to the Additional Collector of South Goa expressing displeasure over the compulsory wearing of helmets on all roads.

MARGAO: Youth of Navelim, Davorlim and other parts of Margao under the banner of “Ami Navelkar” on Monday submitted a memorandum to the Additional Collector of South Goa expressing displeasure over the compulsory wearing of helmets on all roads. 
The youth said they highly inconvenienced by the rule and demanded for a relaxation. The Additional Collector has assured the youth of holding a joint meeting of Public Works Department officials, traffic control officials and local MLAs to find a solution. A youth from Davorlim Ravindra Redkar said when he went to buy groceries on the other side of the highway, he was fined heavily. “Davorlim village has a highway passing by from the west side…how do we solve this problem?” he questioned. The youth have threatened they would not oblige if they’re stopped by the traffic police.
