PANJIM: Revenue Minister Francis D’Souza on Monday told the State Legislative Assembly that government has not approved any allotments on Comunidade land in Ponda Taluka in the last three years.
D’Souza said that government so far has received 76 applications for allotment of Comunidade land in the taluka.
He said that in case of 60 applications, no resolutions have been passed by the comunidades.
According to the minister’s reply, there are eight comunidades in Ponda taluka, which include Shiroda, Codar, Savoi-Verem, Curti, Panchawadi, Marcaim, Bandora and Betqui.
The highest number of 49 applications has been received from Marcaim comunidade, followed by 14 from Shiroda.
Minister said that the applications are basically for use of land for residential purpose.
He was replying to the question tabled by Ponda MLA Lavoo Mamledar, who sought to know the number of allotments in the Comunidade lands in Ponda in last three years.
He also informed the House that in several cases, the land measuring thousands of sqms has sought to be acquired, without specifying the purpose.
D’Souza assured that government that he would clear applications as per the law.
