No headway in Curchorem desecration case

MARGAO: Police have made no headway in nabbing the culprits responsible for vandalising the cemetery at Curchorem on Monday, but claim to be seriously working on the matter.
Superintendent of Police Arvind Gawas reiterated that the police have found a ‘vital clue’ which is being examined carefully.
We are confident of cracking this case and apprehending the culprit soon, based on this vital clue, he said.
It may be recalled that unknown persons early Monday morning  vandalised the Guardian Angel cemetery at Curchorem wherein crosses, tombs and niches were destroyed including a big concrete cross on top of the entrance arch.
Apparently the police saw one person fleeing from the cemetery by jumping over the wall near the kabrastan and then escaping in the adjacent forest. He was suspected to have entered by climbing over the wall as the gate to the cemetery was locked.
The miscreant first destroyed the CCTV camera installed in the cemetery even though the same was not functioning for quite some time now.
