North Goa Court Discharges Three Accused in Umakant Khot Murder Case, Proclamation Issued Against Absconding Prime Accused

The North Goa Additional Sessions Court has discharged three accused in the alleged murder of Umakant Khot, citing insufficient evidence to proceed against them.

The discharged accused, Lokesh Puttaswami, Rohit Kumar Prajapati and Viji Suppan, were chargesheeted by the Mandrem Police in connection with the alleged murder that took place in November 2025.

After considering the material placed before it, the court held that there was a lack of evidence against the three accused and ordered their discharge from the case.

Meanwhile, the trial court has adjourned the matter to August 12 and issued a proclamation order against the absconding prime accused, Ashok Kumar Nedurumali, directing him to appear before the court in accordance with legal procedures.

The case will proceed against the remaining accused as the court continues its hearing in the matter.
