The North Goa Rent-A-Cab Association has raised concerns over the alleged use of private vehicles with white number plates for unauthorized rental services in parts of North Goa.
In a complaint submitted to the Calangute Traffic Police, the association highlighted instances where private vehicles were reportedly being used for commercial rentals without the required permits. The complaint also mentioned cases of vehicles operating with swapped number plates and the presence of high-end cars from other states allegedly being used for rental purposes.

According to the association, such activities not only violate transport regulations but also create unfair competition for licensed rent-a-cab operators who follow the rules.
The Calangute Traffic Police has acknowledged the issue and indicated that the matter will be taken up with senior officials. Police also said they would consult with local authorities, including members of the village panchayat, before initiating enforcement measures to curb the illegal operations in Calangute, North Goa.
