MARGAO: Nuvem MLA Wilfred D’Sa on Tuesday clarified that the tree felled opposite the Carmel College, Nuvem was ordered by the PWD and not the panchayat or him.
D’Sa informed that recently a meeting of the Revenue Department was held and these trees were identified as dangerous after site inspections and other procedures.

The Nuvem MLA further said that he wanted to have a footpath for the school students who walk on the road which can be dangerous with the traffic movement.
“These trees have been declared dangerous as one of the trees had fallen some time ago but no one was hurt. My planned work was for footpath and not to cut the trees,” clarified D’Sa.
