PONDA: Narayan Devu Naik (65) from Chandor died in a fatal accident at Dhareshwari Temple, Dharbandora, on Sunday, at around 3.30 pm.
According to Ponda police, a Honda City driven by Rahul Naik was proceeding towards Sakorda, while a Winger van was coming from the opposite direction. On reaching near Dhareshwari Temple, Winger van rammed against side of the Honda City car.

All the six occupants of the Honda City car were injured in the incident. The victims are identified as Rahul Naik, Shital Naik, Shobana Naik, Kamaxi Naik, Kunda Naik and Narayan Devu Naik.
All the injured were taken to Public Health Centre at Dharbandora, where Narayan Devu Naik succumbed to his injuries; Kamaxi Naik and Kunda Naik were discharged after treatment, while Rahul Naik, Shital Naik and Shobana Naik have been shifted to Goa Medical College Hospital at Bambolim.
Police have registered an offence against Winger driver Prashant Borkar for rash and negligent driving.
