MARGAO: The South Goa Sessions court on Friday sentenced to life imprisonment a native of Madhya Pradesh Jitendra Shakya for the murder of one Ramesh Chetali at Margao in 2011.
The Court also directed the accused to pay a fine of Rs 10,000 or in default to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of one year.
The accused was charged by the Margao police for smashing the head of the deceased with a stone. The prosecution had examined around 12 witnesses in support of its case.
