MARGAO: Fatorda police arrested 51-year-old Xavier Fereira, on Wednesday, for the alleged murder of his brother Bernard Camilo Fereira over some property dispute. He was remanded in police custody for six-day by a local court.
On May 12, at around 12.30 noon, Xavier had assaulted his brother Bernard, at Borda with a ‘dhanda’ on his head.
After suffering serious injuries, Bernard was rushed to Goa Medical College Hospital, where he was undergoing treatment, till he breathed his last on Wednesday.
The accused was allegedly absconding after the brutal assault on his brother. PSI Dinesh Gaonkar is investigating.
