CALANGUTE: Calangute MLA Michael Lobo has said that with 17 legislators of its own and support from Goa Forward Party and three Independents, the BJP-led government is stable.
He was interacting with reporters after laying the foundation stone for the improvement and repairs of a culvert and construction of a retaining wall at Naikavaddo, Calangute.
The culvert was in a dilapidated condition and hence the Calanagute panchayat took the initiative to improve the culvert ahead of the monsoons.
“We have a stable government and are enjoying the support from Goa Forward Party and Independent MLAs. It is left up to the party to decide whether to give me a ministerial berth or not. The future decision in regards to this will be taken by the Chief Minister and the party,” he said.
Lobo was elected as the deputy speaker in March 2017 after the BJP-led government came to power in the state. He was officiating as the acting Speaker after Pramod Sawant took over as the chief minister.
