MAPUSA: Calangute police arrested one Philip Ezakeli Godwin (35), a Nigerian and seized from him ganja worth Rs 27,000, cocaine worth Rs 63,000 and MDMA worth Rs 45,000 during a narcotic raid conducted near Tito’s lane in Baga, Calangute.
Calangute PI Jivba Dalvi said that he received information that a Nigerian would come to deliver narcotic drugs near Tito’s lane. Accordingly, he laid a trap near Tito’s lane Baga and waited with his team for the suspected person. When the accused showed up, police immediately apprehended the Nigerian and on searching his person he was found carrying ganja, cocaine and MDMA.
The Nigerian is booked under Sections 20(b)(ii) (A), 21(b) and 22(b) of NDPS Act. Besides PI Dalvi, the raiding team consisted of PSI Kirtidas Gaude, PC Dinesh Morjkar, Govind Shirodkar and Vallabh Pednekar.
