The Opposition grilled the Goa Chief Minister and Tribal Minister Pramod Sawant as to why there were no political reservations for Scheduled Tribes in the last 20 years when reservations were given to Scheduled Castes. When Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant replied that the appointment of the delimitation Commission was pending, the Opposition shot back and said they were asking for reservation and not readjustment.
Delimitation is not required for reservations, the Opposition told the Chief Minister. They also refused to listen to what BJP had done for tribals in the past but categorically demanded to know if reservations would be done by 2027 to which Chief Minister Pramod Sawant was forced to concede that State would work to ensure reservations for ST are done by 2027.
