PANJIM: The India Meteorological Department (Goa) has issued an Orange Alert for Goa till July 14 as it has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall across the State. Fishermen along the Maharashtra and Goa coast have also been warned not to venture into the sea during this period.

“As forecasted earlier, rainfall over both districts of Goa is very likely to increase from July 11. Squally weather with wind speed reaching 35-45 km/hr gusting to 55 km/hr likely to prevail over North Maharashtra coast from July 11 to 15. Fishermen are advised not to venture into these areas,” the weather report stated.
Goa is on Yellow Alert on July 15, as it is expected to receive heavy rainfall at few places .
