VASCO: An Orissa native was arrested for being in possession of 1,160 grams of ganja worth Rs 1.16 lakh, in a raid conducted by Vasco police at Shantinagar-Vasco late evening on Friday.
Based on reliable information, a team Vasco police conducted a raid at Shantinagar, Vasco and apprehended one Gadadhar Rout, a native of Orissa, who is resides at Velsao, for being in possession of 1,160 grams ganja.
Cash amounting to Rs 2,020 was also seized from his possession.
The accused was arrested for contravening section 20(b) (ii)(B) of the NDPS Act. Investigation is in progress to ascertain the source from where the accused person procured ganja.
Further investigation is carried out under the overall supervision of SDPO Vasco Lawrence D’Souza and SP South Arvind Gawas.
