Over 90% of State population is vaccinated, at least with one dose

PANJIM: More than 90 per cent of Goa’s population is vaccinated with at least first dose as per records till August 12, 2021. Since the launch of the vaccination drive on January 16, 2021; Goa has seen health care workers, front line workers, and persons in the age group of 18-44 years, age group 45-59 years and those aged 60 years and above have been vaccinated in large numbers.
BJP Goa Media Convener Sandesh Sadhale, through a press statement, said that during this period of 209 days, Goa’s 26.31 percent population (3,14,323 persons) are fully vaccinated while 64.35 percent (7,68,632) received the first jab. With this, a massive 90.67 percent population or 10,82,955 beneficiaries in Goa are vaccinated.
Sadhale further informed that the State has administered 13,97,278 vaccine doses.
“CM Pramod Sawant and Health Minister Vishwajit Rane have left no stone unturned to ensure the entire population in Goa including those without identity proof and stranded foreign nationals also avail the benefit in the fight against COVID-19,” he said.
