PANJIM: Ravindra Chandru Naik (68), a resident of Parampai, Madkai, committed suicide by jumping off from the third floor of Goa Medical College and Hospital where he was admitted.
According to Agassaim Police, Naik jumped from the third floor of the GMC building around 6.30 am on Saturday.
“Prime facie, the case looks like that of suicide but we are investigating the matter,” Agassaim Police Inspector Uday Gawade said. He said that the patient had been admitted in the medicine ward of the hospital for the last few days and suddenly walked out of his bed to jump from the third floor.
He was immediately shifted to the casualty of the GMC where he was declared dead, the PI said.
“Investigations will reveal what provoked him to take the extreme step,” he said.
