PERNEM: Pernem police swung into action and seized various brands of liquor which was being transported illegally to Maharashtra.

Police swung into action after being informed of an Alto car bearing Reg No MH 04BW9235 was moving suspiciously in the wee hours of dawn.
Accordingly, the said vehicle was stopped and police found liquor boxes of different brands including 384 bottles of Officer’s Choice whisky, 624 bottles of Royal Royal and 48 bottles of Royal Brandy all worth Rs 30,739.
The vehicle was being driven by one Rohit Datta Salgaonkar (26) native of Sawantwadi, Maharashtra and had no valid documents for transporting liquor. The seized liquor was handed over to Excise Department at Pernem.
The raid was conducted by a team led by DySP Siddhant Shirodkar and others.
