PI Gad faces contempt charges

The Bombay High Court at Goa Monday issued a contempt notice against Police Inspector Devendra Gad for refusing to accept a complaint by President of Taleigao unit of Shiv Sena Sainath Jalmi against the work being carried out inside the Reis Magos Fort.
The police inspector refused to register the complaint of Jalmi on grounds that it was of civil nature. Gad was then attached to Porvorim police station.
Jalmi then moved JMFC, Mapusa against the police inspector. After hearing the parties, the JMFC passed an order directing the Porvorim police inspector to register the complaint.
However, Gad did not comply with direction of the court and hence the contempt notice is served.
