Panjim: The villagers of Pirna are bitter about the behaviour of the three linesmen/helpers of the Electricity Department assigned to look after the power problems in the village.
Normally villagers have to go the Panchayat office and register their complaints in a book kept in the panchayat, after which the power linesmen go through the book and attend to the complaints. However, the villagers allege that they have to wait for many days before their faults are rectified.
One villager, on the condition of anonymity, said that the Electricity Department employees have their own business to look after and fail to attend to their duty.
The villagers have even gone to the Colvale Electricity Department office with their complaints but all their pleas have fallen on deaf ears.
The villagers want the government authorities to look into this issue and solve their problems so that they can enjoy continuous power supply. Students, they allege, are often the worst sufferers when there is a power failure, especially during their exams.
