MARGAO: Maina Curtorim Police on Sunday attached a vehicle which was involved in transporting a bull without any valid documents, near Raia Church.
According to Maina Curtorim Police, a vehicle with the registration number MH-24 AU-7400 was stopped. The vehicle driver, one Devidas Kolhe from Latur, Maharashtra, when questioned failed to provide any valid documents for transporting the said bull from Solapur to Raia.
On receiving information, Maina Curtorim Police attached the vehicle.
The concerned authorities filed a police complaint for transporting the bull for slaughter without valid documents.
The Police have sent the report to Margao Court under Section 192 of Motor Vehicle Act.
The police said they sent a letter to a doctor for examining the bull to find out if the animal was subjected to cruelty. Dhyan Foundation Gaushala, Zambaulim, Goa took custody of the bull with the help of the police.
According to police sources, a resident of Raia approached the Maina Curtorim Police stating that he had purchased the bull for Rs 1.20 lakh from Solapur for “ploughing” and said the seller has confirmed selling the bull to him.
Meanwhile, in another development, it is suspected that two persons trespassed into the Dhyan Foundation Gaushala and threatened the staff that they would take away the bull.
A complaint of trespass and threat under Sections 451 and 504 of the IPC has been filed by Dhyan Foundation before the Quepem Police. The police are conducting an inquiry.
