MARGAO: Colva police have recorded the statement of Agnelo Faria, 40, of Varca, who was stabbed with a sharp weapon by his friend and undergoing treatment in ICU Goa Medical College (GMC), Bambolim.
PSI Colva Deepa Deykar, who is investigating the case, recorded Faria’s statement after he regained consciousness. Police sources said that as per his statement, Leo Rodrigues stabbed him with a sharp weapon. Rodrigues, 49, was arrested by Colva police but has been admitted in South Goa District Hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, 35-year-old Shyam Naik from Nessai, who was arrested by Maina-Curtorim police for committing murder of migrant labourer from Jharkhand has been remanded in four days custody. Police identified the deceased as Rajiv Mahto, 37, resident of Menezes Bhat, Nessai.
