MARGAO: The Margao police on Sunday night detained on suspicion one Santosh Anumantha Katmani, 28, presently residing near Rosary High School at Fatorda, Margao, a native of Bijapur, who was found moving on a bicycle in the city.
During interrogation, Katmani confessed of his involvement in thefts of bicycles. Five bicycles, worth around Rs 40,000, of different make were recovered from him. He has been placed under arrest and further investigation is in progress. Police have requested members of public whose cycles were stolen in the past to approach the Margao police station and identify the same.
