The Ponda Police have registered a fresh case in the alleged ‘Cash-for-Jobs’ scam, booking two individuals for allegedly cheating a retired police sub-inspector (PSI) by promising to secure a PSI post for his son.
The accused have been identified as Rupesh, a resident of Khandepar in Ponda, and Tommy, a resident of Aldona in Bardez.

According to the police complaint, the retired officer was allegedly assured that his son would be recruited as a PSI and was persuaded to pay ₹10 lakh in cash to facilitate the appointment.
However, despite the payment, the promised job was not secured and the money was allegedly not returned. Following repeated unsuccessful attempts to recover the amount, the complainant approached the police seeking legal action.
Based on the complaint, Ponda Police registered a case against the two accused and launched an investigation into the matter.
Police are examining the circumstances surrounding the alleged fraud and are expected to verify the financial transactions and promises made to the complainant as part of the ongoing probe.
Further investigation is underway.
