Ponda is set to transform into a major education hub with facilities spanning from kindergarten to postgraduate level, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant announced.
As part of the development plan, a new campus of the Indian Institute of Technology is proposed at Farmagudi. In addition, a forensic science college and a veterinary college will be established in Curti, enhancing higher education opportunities in the region.
On the healthcare front, the existing ID Hospital in Ponda will be upgraded to a district hospital, aimed at improving access to advanced medical services for residents.
The Chief Minister said these initiatives are designed to position Ponda as a key centre for education and healthcare in Goa, creating new opportunities for students and strengthening public infrastructure.
