MAPUSA: Ports Minister Michael Lobo on Wednesday said casinos should be reopened with 50 per cent capacity by October following all COVID standard operating procedures (SOPs) and protocols.
Addressing media persons, Lobo said, “I will discuss the reopening of casinos with Chief Minister.”
“We welcome the High Court’s decision allowing fully vaccinated tourists to enter the State. People were unable to pay their bank EMIs with regards to loans availed for vehicles or any other business activities”, the minister said.
“The banks have issued notices to the loanees and some have even received final notices. To come out of this crisis, all activities related to tourism need to be reopened,”he said.
“If hotels can operate then why not reopen other tourism-related activities,?” said Lobo.
