MAPUSA: President of Porvorim Block Congress Adv Shankar Phadte in a petition to Traffic Police SP has requested for diversion of traffic via other routes to avoid congestion on the Aldona- Betim major district road during Ganesh Chaturthi.
The petition was made to give relief to the people of Britona, Salvador do Mundo, Ecoxim, Pomburpa and also the general public travelling on this route.
The Porvorim Block Congress appealed to all the people traveling on this route especially those from Aldona, Mayem and Bicholim to follow the traffic advisory and take the alternate routes as proposed by the Traffic Cell.
“There are major traffic jams on the Aldona- Betim route during festivities. Discussions were held with the Traffic Police Dy SP, Dharmesh Angle who has issued a traffic advisory on Saturday to the people of Goa to take the alternate route as proposed in order to prevent inconvenience during the five days of Ganesh Chaturthi,” said Phadte.
