The Maina Curtorim police have registered a case of cheating against a resident of Porvorim for allegedly duping a native of Curtorim on the promise of providing job overseas.
The police said that the complainant Kalyan Parab, resident of Sirsa-Curtorim has claimed that one Arthur Kennedy of Porvorim has taken cash of Rs 65,000 with a promise to provide job abroad.
The transaction had allegedly taken place in March last year, the complaint stated.
The Maina Curtorim police have registered a case under Section 420 of the IPC. Further investigations are on.
