Porvorim Police conducted a narcotics raid at Pundalik Nagar in Penha de Franca and arrested a 25-year-old man for allegedly possessing 285 grams of ganja.
The accused has been identified as Vijay Eliger, a resident of Mapusa.

According to police, Vijay was found in illegal possession of 285 grams of ganja during the raid. Officers also seized ₹29,000 in cash, suspected to be linked to the illegal narcotics trade.
In addition to the contraband and cash, the scooter allegedly used in the commission of the offence was attached as part of the investigation.
A case has been registered under the relevant provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and further investigation is underway to ascertain the source of the contraband and whether others are involved in the alleged drug trafficking network.
