VASCO: Porvorim resident, Ravindra Singh Chohan, lodged a complaint against four people, including a builder, for cheating him out of a housing project at Quelossim, Cortalim.
According to Chouhan, the four men allegedly induced him to invest in their housing project, but failed to complete it even though he paid Rs 2.85 crores.
Instead, they demanded more money to complete the same and threatened to damage his company’s reputation if he didn’t comply.
They then forced him to sign a tri-party agreement to sell his rights of the housing project for Rs 4 crore to another person. To add to his woes, they first cancelled the advance cheque of Rs 1 crore and then failed to pay the rest. He was then forced to transfer the land to one of the accused without payment.
The Verna Police registered a case under various sections and will continue its investigation.
