President of India Pratibha Devisingh Patil arrived in Goa from New Delhi on Monday on a four-day visit.
The President was given a warm reception by Governor Dr S S Sidhu, Chief Minister Digambar Kamat, Speaker Pratapsing Rane, Chief Secretary Sanjay Srivastava, DGP Bhim Sain Bassi, Flag Officer Commanding Goa Naval Area Rear Admiral Sudhir Pillai, Commandant 2STC Brigadier K S Chauhan, Secretary (Protocol) S Kumarswami, Collector South Goa G P Naik among a host of dignitaries.
After the reception at the Naval Enclave of the Dabolim Airport, the President of India proceeded to the Raj Bhavan. The President will be in the State till January 6.
Dr Devisingh Shekhawat, spouse of the President, Jyoti Rathore, daughter of the President, Miss Vedika Rathore, grand daughter of the President are accompanying her on the tour.
During her stay in Goa, the President will visit a South Goa beach on January 4. Governor Dr Sidhu will host a dinner in honour of the President on January 5. She will leave Goa for Pune on January 6, at 5.10 pm.
