Projects worth Rs 72 cr sanctioned for State

PANJIM, FEB 13 Goa Tourism Development Corporation Vice Chairman Lyndon Monteiro on Friday disclosed projects worth Rs 72 crore have been sanctioned for the State, for which Centre would finance around Rs 49 crore and the remaining would have to be borne by the State Government.

Goa Tourism Development Corporation Vice Chairman Lyndon Monteiro on Friday disclosed projects worth Rs 72 crore have been sanctioned for the State, for which Centre would finance around Rs 49 crore and the remaining would have to be borne by the State Government. 
Monteiro, who is also Officer on Special Duty to the Tourism Minister, was addressing press persons at a media briefing at the Miramar Residency, here, to announce the Goa Carnival 2009.
He said a new Paryatan Bhavan, upgradation of the Santa Monica Jetty, here, development of parking space near the same jetty and creating new touristic centres along rivers Zuari and Mandovi were among some of the projects.
Monteiro said some of the projects would be fully funded by the Centre while for some the State would have to make 25% financial provision with 75% coming from the former.
