MARGAO: The Goa Police on Friday suspended Police Sub-Inspector Stanley Gomes attached to Margao Police Station.

Superintendent of Police South Goa Pankaj Kumar Singh issued the order placing him under suspension pending preliminary enquiry. However, so far no inquiry officer has been appointed.
It may be recalled that several agitated Navelim locals on Thursday gathered at Margao Police Station demanding to register an FIR against PSI Gomes in an alleged case of assaulting a person.
Navelim locals along with 25-year-old Edwin Coelho’s family and friends demanded to file an FIR against the PSI.
