PANJIM: Sameer Sardana, the Dehradun native, who is currently probed by multiple agencies, was subjected to a psychiatric test at the government-run Institute of Psychiatry and Human Behaviour (IPHB) Bambolim.
However, the doctors who examined him have not found anything suspicious and that “he is fine.”
The test was conducted after the investigating officers found him behaving in a weird manner and he was completely uncooperative.
“We feel that he definitely has some mental issues; his family must be aware of it, but they have not yet approached us,” said an investigating official.
Sources in the ATS have informed that Sameer had drafted a letter some seven or eight years ago; it was found on his laptop and it has become the source of suspicion for all central investigating agencies.
“We are verifying each and every aspect of the letter; why he drafted and where he sent it; we are looking at the incidents that have taken places during that time in the country,” a senior officer of Goa Police said.
Of the five passports seized from Sammer, three are special ones and using which he extensively travelled, said an ATS officer.
“We are not leaving any stone unturned before releasing him. We are verifying all his contacts, bank accounts and all travels,” said the ATS officer.
Sameer was interrogated by Goa ATS, NIA and IB after he was arrested by Vasco railway police for his suspicious movement at railways station over a month. NIA team has left Goa, but IB and Goa ATS are still interrogating him.
