The Zonal Agriculture Office (ZAO) of Quepem distributed compensation cheques to farmers whose fields were damaged during the May season due to heavy rains and the opening of gates at Nanda Lake.
Out of 103 farmers declared eligible for compensation, 47 received their cheques at a distribution function held at the Curchorem Ravindra Bhavan.

The cheques were handed over by Curchorem MLA Nilesh Cabral and ZAO Quepem Kaviraj Naik Gaonkar, who acknowledged the hardships faced by the affected farmers and assured continued government support for agricultural recovery and resilience.
