Railways will take up projects in Goa: Sawaikar

MARGAO: South Goa MP Narendra Sawaikar on Thursday said that the railway Ministry will take up infrastructural projects in Goa, including bridges at railway crossings during the next two years.

Sawaikar also launched the Passenger Railway Service at the Cuncolim Post Office on Thursday morning in the presence of Cuncolim MLA Rajan Naik and postal authorities.
Speaking on the occasion, the South Goa MP said the state government has taken up with the Railway Ministry Goa’s requirements including railway bridges at all railway crossings in the stae. “We have petitioned to the New Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu for railway bridges at Margao, Curchorem. Chandor, Vasco, Cansaulim and other railway crossings. We have received positive signals and I am confident that work on the infrastructure should take place within the next two years”, Sawaikar added.
Earlier, the MP launched the Passengers Railway service at the Cuncolim post office which will facilitate the local residents to book train tickets from the post office. He urged the postal and railway authorities to extend the amenity to other post offices in South Goa.
