PONDA: Ponda MLA Ravi Naik has held the PWD Minister Sudin Dhavalikar responsible for pothole ridden roads in Goa and overflowing of sewerage chambers in Ponda and Mapusa in the first rain itself.
Addressing to the media in Ponda, Ravi alleged that use of substandard material and poor quality work have resulted in potholed roads and overflowing of sewerage chambers. Consequently, crores of rupees of tax payers’ money have gone waste.
Displaying photographs of overflowing sewerage chambers right on the middle of the road, he claimed that people have been opposing Sewage Treatment Plants (STP) due to the poor quality work done by the PWD.
“Failures of the government on various fronts is proof that the government in Goa has become defunct and that if ministers like Sudin Dhavalikar can’t solve public, issue then they should leave their job and allow others to do it,” Ravi said.
He regretted that even before the STPs become operational, the sewerage chambers on roads are overflowing.
