MARGAO: Supply of raw water to industries at the Verna Industrial Estate may finally become a reality by this month end.
Water Resources Department Chief Engineer S T Nadkarni said the pipeline from Davorlim to Verna has already been laid and is awaiting connection at the Davorlim point. “We have also completed the work of laying the raw water pipeline from Davorim to Verna Industrial Estate. The pipeline is awaiting connection at the Davorlim point. After some trial runs by next week, the line will be finally commissioned,” Nadkarni told Herald.
He said the Rs 55-crore pipeline project is complete and payments to the tune of Rs 45 crore have already been made to the parties.
The Davorlim-Verna pipeline is the dream project of CM Manohar Parrikar to supply dedicated raw water to the industries in the Verna Industrial estate.
