PANJIM: Reserve Bank of India (RBI) will hold its central board meeting in Goa on May 14, which would be the first ever major assignment of Governor Raghuram Rajan after the threat to his life from ISIS.
Sources stated that the central board meeting will not be followed by a town hall event, which is a regular feature after it. The town hall meetings are usually held wherein RBI governor interacts with youngsters like students.
“There will be media briefing but the town hall meeting is cancelled due to security worries,” said a senior official, on the condition of anonymity.
