The reaction from Aam Admi/Aurat to the Union Budget has been largely positive with a cross section of the people reacting very positively to the provision made for banks exclusively for women entrepreneurs.

Union budget decision to allow banks in the insurance sector is a welcome step. This will bring in more profit to banks. But overall, the budget has failed to impress the common man. There is nothing for the salaried class, except for the tax slab, which has been maintained.

It looks that the luxurious lifestyle will be affected while there is no impact on middle class group. This is one thing which can be appreciated. No hike in any essential goods that a middle class family requires for leading a normal livelihood.

Luxurious lifestyle is badly affected. Holidaying will be costlier as eating out will become expensive as government has put tax on AC restaurants. We can call it an average budget which has no sops for common man.

“The budget has not given much incentive to the salaried class. We were expecting that the budget will increase the tax slab, but it has not done anything in this matter. Increase in mobile phone prices is also not acceptable,” said.

“I was expecting better budget this year. Rates of flats and houses are going up and at this stage, government should have increased the slab of loan up to Rs 40 lakh and should have given additional deduction of Rs 1 lakh or more than that on housing loans. The common man will have a tough time to purchase a house. There is nothing concrete for new entrepreneurs.”
