MARGAO: State Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has urged all the South Goa Ministers, MLAs, and office bearers of the Bharatiya Janata Party to reach out to the people in order to resolve issues concerning the society, besides helping citizens in the wake of the Covid pandemic.
On Wednesday Chief Minister headed the meeting at the South Goa district office and instructed all the party leaders of the district. He also guided the leaders with regard to upcoming programmes of the party.
“Ministers and MLAs also should reach out to the people and hear the grievances in order to resolve them. That’s why we called all the Ministers and MLAs from South for the meeting,” he stated.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Babu Kavlekar, Power Minister Nilesh Cabral, Water Resource Minister Filip Neri Rodrigues, Panchayat Minister Mauvin Godinho, MLA Wilfred D’sa, Clafasio Dias, Alina Saldanha, besides party President Sadanand Tanavade, MP Vinay Tendulkar, former MP Adv Narendra Sawaikar, former MLA Damodar Naik and others.
Nuvem MLA Wilfred D’sa said that CM has even instructed to make house-to-house visits and resolve the issues of people.
“We have been requested by the Chief Minister to reach out to the people and make all out efforts to hear the grievances, also to resolve the issues of the people,” he informed.
President Tanavade informed the media that this meeting was held in order to discuss and fix the responsibilities pertaining to the upcoming party’s programme in the South district.
“Our first programme will be held on Yoga Day on June 21 in every constituency. BJP MLAs will join in organising the programme. The party will also organise a programme in memory of Shyam Prasad Mukherjee on June 23. On June 25, BJP will observe the black day. Besides, other programmes will be held in coming days,” Tanavade informed.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister at the visit to COVID Care Centre at Majorda assured that the centre will be converted into a permanent health centre in near future.
On Wednesday late evening he visited the centre along with Nuvem MLA.
As informed by the MLA, at the visit to the centre CM has expressed satisfaction with regard to the set-up and functioning of the COVID Care Centre.
