CANACONA: Canacona police detained and questioned a restaurant owner for dumping garbage near Gulem petrol pump, on Saturday.
‘Goenkar’, a local NGO, was instrumental in police detaining and questioning the restaurant owner. According to ‘Goenkar’, Nikhil Mahajan, a native of Jammu & Kashmir, running a restaurant named ‘Old Chef’ in Agonda was found dumping garbage near Gulem petrol pump.
Upon noticing Mahajan dumping garbage, Jack Fernandes and Vikas Bhagat of Goenkar called the Canacona police who in a swift move took Mahajan into custody.When this correspondent visited the Canacona police station at 11 am, the investigation was in progress and the accused was being interrogated.
