Roadmap for Smart City, AMRUT to be unveiled today

PANJIM: On the first anniversary of the launch of Centre’s flagship Missions of Smart City and AMRUT, the State Government will announce its roadmap for implementing the two schemes for Panjim on Saturday.

Panjim, is amongst the 33 cities selected by the Union Ministry for Urban Development for grants under the Smart City project. Rs 536 crore will be spent by the Centre and State over the next five years on transforming the city.
On the other hand, under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation, nearly Rs 130 crore will be spent for city development.
Both schemes will be implemented through a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) constituted under the chairmanship of Urban Development Secretary Sudhir Mahajan. 
Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC) has been appointed as the mission directorate.
